Korean American Family Service Center

This social service program is a Web resource that nurtures Korean American families in being emotionally healthy and secure. It provides community outreach and counseling and various programs aimed at low-income families. [Recommended by Jane Kim.]


American, Korean or Both?

This site summarizes interviews by Crystal Chappell of other Korean-American adoptees who struggle with their identity of being Korean, American or both. These adoptees feel lost in a society that either wants them to be Asian or to be American. If the adoptees say that they are American, they struggle with their physical features. If the adopotees say that they are Korean, they struggle with their non-Asian last names and their lack of knowledge of Korean culture.
