Partnership and Networking

Partnership Protocol Joint Working Partnerships
Partnership & Networking: getting connected to achieve results

We are actively involved in partnerships and alliances between the community, voluntary, private and public sectors:

CCDN takes place in Elections which determine the Community Network’s seats for the Local Strategic Partnership, the place where the business, public, community and voluntary sectors meet. This is a position of unique strength, but also means that for CCDN to realise its potential it must continue to build active alliances with all these sectors.

We work with other organisations in a variety of ways, locally and nationally. It is more effective through sharing information, providing complementary services, joint working and influencing change.

Working with other relevant organisation includes:

  • Networking to keep in touch or make useful contacts
  • Getting involved in campaigns
  • Joint working to achieve a common end or express a common concern
  • joining formal partnerships that bring together the public, private and voluntary sectors

Complementary services means:

  • Having a good understanding of the services available for similar targeted users and using this information to help plan our services
  • Services and activities that have been planned to make organisations better at meeting the variety of needs within our local community
  • Avoiding unnecessary duplication of services

Influencing change might involve:

  • Representing our members interests in a forum
  • Advocating changes in policies or funding that will benefit our members and those we support
  • Ensuring other agencies carry out their functions towards our members and those we support
