Capturing the
essence of Sankofa the
Celebrating Cultural Diversity Network
welcomed everyone to participate in our joyful & exquisite
Community Drumming Party, a Sankofa Snapshot as part of the
Black History Month Celebrations Lead by Master
Drummers Nana Tsiboe, Henri Goabi and rhythm synergy facilitator
Jamie Morgan from the Centre of Creativity. The Party is also
joined by local drumming groups Meli Melo, Drumfire, Percussion
Discussion and features talented young people from the Respond
Performing Arts Youth Collective.
Everyone with or
without a drum is welcome to join into the Hastings town centre
fun, utilising more than 200 tools of rhythm ranging from
African djembe drums to colourful transformed & recycled junk
using our own natural abilities towards its most fulfilling
potential!
Arts development
officer of Hastings Borough Council Penny Precious said: " I am

Jazz Trio with South African jazz flautist Reg Hendickse. Irish
Folk with local musicians Jo Barnes and Paul Dengate. Nigerian,
Global Grooving Dancer, Mr. Magnus will help you get your moves
right and Nubian Star Dancers bring the Bangles song to live
with "Walk like an Egyptian" and if this diversity still wasn't
your style please join the "Last Manz Standing" with their Hip
Hop Special. |
