with the young and old members from the St Leonards based Multi
Cultural & Multi Generational Performing Arts Group "GLOBAL
BANG" -under artistic leadership of locally based Ghanaian
Masterdrummer Nana Tsiboe- highlighted the rich talent from East
Sussex's diverse ethnicities, cultures & faiths.
"GLOBAL BANG" performed African Drumming, Dance and Songs during
a Multi Cultural Youth Festival in West Sussex during April
2007.
Festival Organiser Jackie Beckford of West Sussex Council for
Voluntary Youth Services said: " I was
delighted to involve Young People in the planning and delivery
of this immensely successful event and to see so much joy
amongst children & Young People from different
cultural communities. Together we were able to raise awareness
of the services available to them."
BBC Southern
Counties Radio
provided free "air" time, giving Young people a "voice" within
the community and recognising their positive contribution. On
behalf of WSCVYS & CCDN, certificates were awarded to
acknowledge the Young People's and their families achievements.
Everyone is welcome to join the group which rehearses
every Tuesday from 5-7pm at the
Centre of Creativity, 20 West Hill Road, St Leonards on Sea,
