CCDN commissions professional musicians, dancers, DJ’s, storytellers, puppet players and other creative practitioners. CCDN has build up longstanding and good relations, developing employment opportunities and professional practise, experience and profiles. The local "BRING A DISH” contributes to the delivery of the Community Cohesion Action Plan and also relates to achieving progress with respect to a specific target in the Community Strategy – Target 10, Community Cohesion, which aims to “Increase the number of residents who feel people from different backgrounds live harmoniously in the town.” 'We want our towns strong community spirit, culture, young population and extraordinary natural environment to be foundations of a safer healthier and more prosperous place with lasting opportunities for everybody' Cllr. Jeremy Birch CCDN commissions work by Artists & Creative Practitioners from Black & Minority Ethnic Communities for the Monthly Bring-A-Dish and Black History Month Festival SANKOFA.
