Ann Brooker
With a multiple family heritage embracing Malta,
England, Jamaica and Sierra Leone, Ann is mother and
home educator of a young multi-cultural son, as well as
a passionate and conscientious researcher with a rich
experience in the active support of diverse communities
such as the BME Toddlers Groups, Home Education Growth &
Development Education (HEDGE), ‘mover and shaker’ for
GEMS – a local bartering system, and recently, project
manager and administrative fund-raiser at CCDN.
Other valuable administrative and research experience
includes setting up a co-operative in Brighton; mother’s
help for multi-cultural children; and taking on the
essential role of motivator in creating a developmental
framework in support of ESCC – a fostering team
specifically for children and young people from various
ethnicities and faiths, within which more efficient
mapping and lack of dedicated resources could be
identified.
“I am always happy to combine my passion for equality
and ecological issues within my work, and I am keen to
expand my existing skills and capabilities within CCDN:
not only as a home-educator and experienced carer of
multi-cultural children and adolescents, but primarily
exploring new and efficient possibilities for
fund-raising and administration to further strengthen
and keep the Network moving forward.”
