Dutch multi skilled
visual artist Tom Abbass-Saal transformed the ballroom during the
Sankofa Festival by decorating the walls with large paintings of people
from around the world. He also exhibited one of his large wooden
carvings.

Orage
is local artist, renowned as having created one of the best creative
club nights in the southeast and well known for his beautiful imagery
inspired by Maori Designs. On the first Saturday of each month on
Hastings Pier La Chambre Magique offers a multitude of DJ's, musicians,
performers, artists, a spectacular ever-growing laser show and lots of
smiling faces from many different places.

Is a
visual artist working in Hastings of Anglo-Chinese descent. His work is
indistinguishable from his life. The process of looking at and
formulating a language around painting is an engagement at once,
profound and original. In this respect, the work reflects his
experiences and travels, at home and abroad.

Born
and raised in Hastings, Glen Veness's analogue films have a rare charm
about them, reflecting his love of the Old Town and the Fishing Boats.
Glen started filming about 17 years ago using first Cine film followed
by Betamax and VHS. Enjoy the raw beauty of his films, which convey the
love for our local hometown!

Student at Hastings College I explore ceramics, sculpting and visual art
as a media to express myself and my Jamaican heritage and identity. The
idea of recreating and changing scenes of personal and mythological
stories is one of the ways I like to develop my work. |
